 Heatherly Davis
Heatherly Davis has numerous wins and championships in the hunter, jumper and equitation ring both as a junior and later as an amateur. Starting her formal education as a young child with Rob Gage and Cyndi Merritt, she later put down roots at the famous Foxfield Riding School in Westlake Village, California. At Foxfield, Heatherly built a strong foundation in the basic fundamentals of riding. She learned invaluable lessons: In order to succeed you must work hard, ride every horse you can, never complain, and never stop learning. Heatherly relates, "you get out what you put in."
Heatherly has always had a passion for equitation. After working and riding at Foxfield for over 15 years, she turned to Shauna Pennell to gain more education on the technical aspects of demanding medal courses. Shauna helped her win many equitation and medal classes, finishing with multiple championships and top ten standings in many adult medal finals for 15 plus years.
Heatherly has also had a successful career of breeding and raising young horses. Through her breeding endeavors, she has learned the importance of consistent, patient training needed to bring along young horses from the ground into the show ring. With a partnership in the famous hunter stallion Alla Czar, Heatherly produced several USEF, PCHA, and LAHSA champions, such as Millennium, Mieux Czar and Laissez Faire. Other successes included her most recent baby, the 2005 USEF Medium Green Champion Pony Macy Grey.
Through the years, Heatherly has also been fortunate to clinic with several world-renowned trainers - Bert DeNemethy, Victor Hugh-Vidal, Greg Best, Susie Hutchison, Anne Kursinski, Kip Rosenthal, Michael Page and Meg Schulman to name a few. As a professional, Heatherly continues her education through various clinics and training sessions with top athletes in the sport.
As owner and head trainer at Edelweiss Farms, Heatherly especially enjoys working with her students and helping them reach their individual goals. When away from her teaching and riding duties, she enjoys spending time with her husband and 8 year old son.
